Puffy eyes due to aging, drinking, smoking, stress or just about anything else? This is part 2 of our article on excellent home remedies that work.

Today's cures start with the potato. Vastly underrated, this plentiful gravy-mate has a large array of anti-aging and healing qualities, including de-puffing your puffy eyes.

In European folk medicine the potato is tried and true as a means to soothe painful joints, headaches, and other inflammatory conditions. Potato starch also acts as an anti-inflammatory agent to ease those puffy eyes.

Directions: Peel one potato, wash and dry it. Finely grate the potato. Put the pulp in a clean cloth and fold it to make a poultice. Put the poultice on your closed eyes for 15 minutes, and enjoy your de-puffed eyes.

Cold water. My personal experience with this one is wonderful. Before heading off to work, when you just have a few minutes to get ready, you don't have time to pamper away with cucumber slices and potatoes, but not to worry. Cold water works in less than 8 seconds!

Directions: Turn on the faucet and wait for the water to get cold. Rinse your face with several good splashes of cold water. The coolness of the water will constrict blood vessels and reduce swelling in under ten seconds. Plus, you'll be very awake by now!

Salt. Yes salt. Pepperoni pizza, chips and other salty foods often cause puffy eyes. However, salt by itself is wonderful for reducing them!

Directions: Put 1/2 teaspoon salt into 1 quart of warm water. Dip cotton balls or facial pads into the solution, then lie down and apply the pads to your eyelids. Leave on for 10-15 minutes. When finished, you'll be amazed at your younger looking de-puffed eyes.
